Johnny Depp in Sweeny Todd

I love Johnny Depp. He is definitely in my “Top 5″. Every movie that I’ve ever seen of his I have truly enjoyed. In my opinion he is one of the best actors around today. Remember him in 21 Jump Street or am I aging myself?? He sure has come a long way!

Pirates of the Caribbean was probably my favorite Johnny Depp movie so far but it truly is hard to pick a favorite movie or character that he has played because he is so awesome in all of his movies. The scene in the first Pirates movie where him and Kiera Knightly are drunk running around on the beach was funny and the scene from the 2nd Pirates movie when they are escaping the island and the tribe chases him - hilarious. “I gotta jar of dirt” …

Of course you can’t forget Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I couldn’t even recognize that it was Johnny Depp! The expressions are classic. I initially thought that he resembled Michael Jackson but I’ve read that he based the character after Anna Wintour (Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief). I don’t know but the performance was excellent - primarily his expressions throughout the movie. I can’t even pick a favorite scene because the whole movie is great. If you haven’t seen it definitely watch it. I watched it numerous times because my daughter loved the movie (this version and the original).

Blow was also a fantastic movie. I highly recommend that one too.

So Johnny Depp has teamed up again with Tim Burton (remember Edward Scissorhands) in the new movie Sweeney Todd which is coming out this Christmas. I watched the trailer and would love to see it. I know that any movie that Johnny Depp is in I know it will be good great. You can also read more interesting facts by visiting Sweeney Todd on MySpace. You can also see the trailer if you visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site. Cool stuff indeed!

Christmas is a great time for movies!!
